A 22-year-old man was shot to death in Rogers Park Sunday afternoon, according to the Chicago Sun-Times Homicide Watch.
The man was shot in his head shortly before 4 p.m. not far from Willye B. White Park in the 1600 block of West Jonquil Terrace, said Officer Daniel O’Brien, a police spokesman.
Police investigated the scene in the park, just north of Howard Street. Police cordoned off the entire park and moved onlookers over toward the next block. Evanston police officers were dispatched to the scene to help quell a large angry crowd that gathered.
Police had no more information Sunday night. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office did not release the man’s identity, pending notification of his family. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:17 p.m. after being shot multiple times, the medical examiner’s office said.
