Missing Loyola student found in lake

Loyola University Chicago confirmed a missing MBA student’s body was found in Belmont Harbor on the Fourth of July, CBS -2 Chicago is reporting.

CBS-2 reports police were called to Belmont Harbor around 9 a.m. Thursday, and pulled the body of a man in his 20s from the water.

Not long after the body was recovered from Belmont Harbor, police cancelled a missing person alert for 25-year-old Christopher Evans, who went missing Sunday morning, when he was at Roscoe’s Tavern with friends, CBS-2 reports.

Here is the official announcement from the university:

We are very sad to inform you that it has been confirmed that the body of Christopher Evans has been found at Belmont Harbor in Chicago. Chris had been missing since around 1:30 a.m. on June 30.Chris was a part-time student at Loyola University Chicago, where he was enrolled in the MBA program in the Quinlan School of Business. He was also a financial analyst within the University’s Financial Services Office.

Services are currently being scheduled and we will share details with you as the information becomes available.
