A man in his 40s was stabbed in the chest near the Wilson Club Hotel and remains in serious condition, according to police.

A man in his 40s was in serious condition after being stabbed in the chest at an Uptown hotel Tuesday evening, authorities said.
The man was stabbed about 7:30 p.m. after a fight between two men escalated, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said. The incident occurred near the Wilson Club Hotel, 1124 W. Wilson Ave., police and fire officials said.
The victim, who is 43 or 44, walked to a nearby firehouse and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition, Fire Department Chief Joseph Roccasalva said.
The assailant, 57, suffered minor injuries in the melee, police said. He was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital in good condition, Roccasalva said.
The assailant is in police custody, but had not been charged at 8:45 p.m., Baety said.
