It will hopefuly be smooth sailing once again for Loyola University Chicago’s  student shuttle buses, as the Sheridan Road reconstruction project is complete.

Edgewater Ald. Harry Osterman (48th Ward) announced that work complete on the water main work and repaving that since summer has reduced lanes and slowed traffic on Sheridan from Hollywood Avenue north to Loyola University Chicago.

Loyola shuttles have been diverted to Broadway Avenue on their trips from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus to Water Tower Campus.

Now they can begin rolling again on Sheridan Road.

Here is a note from Osterman:

“I wanted to congratulate all 48th Ward neighbors on the completion of the Sheridan Road water main and resurfacing project that took place from Hollywood to Devon,” Osterman wrote. “I especially want to thank Sheridan Road residents, building managers, condo associations and ASCO for your patience and ongoing communication with my office and one another. I also want to thank the Department of Water Management, the Chicago Department of Transportation, State Senator Heather Steans and State Representative Kelly Cassidy. This successful infrastructure project was the result of governmental collaboration and productiveness. One last thank you goes to all 48th Ward neighbors for enduring traffic delays and construction throughout the community.”
