A special Veterans Day screening of “V-DAY 11-11-11,” a documentary which chronicles the lives of military personnel, will take place today at Loyola University Chicago.
Here are details from a news release:
Join the School of Communication (SOC) as we honor our nation’s veterans with a screening of a powerful documentary that chronicles the lives of military personnel. SOC faculty John C.P Goheen and Aaron Greer directed and produced V-DAY 11.11.11, a feature-length award-winning film.
V-DAY 11.11.11 is a nationwide “day in the life” exploration of what it means to be a veteran in the United States. Award-winning director John C.P Goheen reached out to more than 40 of the nation’s most accomplished visual storytellers asking for their time and talent to donate to this completely non-profit project. Storytellers followed veterans on the momentous November 11, 2011 (11.11.11) Veterans Day for a glimpse into the lives of those who have served our country. The range and perspectives included in the film is broad, as stories date from the Civil War Battle of Pittsburg Landing, captured at the Shiloh National Military Park, to modern-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
