A man was wounded in an early morning shooting near Rush Street and Chicago Avenue near Loyola University Chicago’s Water Tower Campus, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The man was stepping into a vehicle at about 5 a.m. near the 800 block of North Rush Street when a gunman approached and shot the man in the knee, the Tribune reports. The man drove himself to the hospital, according to the Tribune.

A man was wounded early this morning in a shooting in the Gold Coast neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened just before 5 a.m. as the man was stepping into a vehicle near the intersection of Rush Street and Chicago Avenue, Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
A gunman approached and opened fire, striking the man in the knee, according to police.
The man, who is about 20 years old, drove himself to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
