Ho-ho-ho Loyola students. Looking for something festive to do this weekend?
Check out the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, it will kick off the holidays at 6 p.m. Saturday with the lighting parade hosted by Disney’s Mickey Mouse.
Millions of people are expected to come to Michigan Avenue, located just two blocks from Loyola University Chicago’s Water Tower Campus on Saturday evening to ring in the holiday season with some fun.
Students cannot contain their excitement for the annual parade hosted this year by BMO Harris Bank.
“We have a group of friends all ready to come down on Saturday to check it out,” said Julie Strand, 20, a junior advertising and public relations major at Loyola. “Just make sure you get down there early to get a spot.”
Another holiday favorite, ice-skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park opens Friday. The rink is free, and skate rentals are only $10. A perfect idea for a wintertime date.
