A 17-year-old Rogers Park boy remains in critical condition after allegedly being shot in the head by his father.
Here is a portion of the story from the Chicago Sun-Times:
A 17-year-old boy from the Rogers Park neighborhood was critically wounded when the gun he and his father were struggling over on Saturday evening went off, striking him in the head, police said.
The father, who has not been charged with any crime as of Sunday morning, was fighting with his son over the handgun in the 1300 block of West Estes Avenue about 5 p.m., when it accidentally went off, striking the boy in the head, police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said.
“It appears the son had (the gun) and he was trying to take it away from him,” Perez said. As they were wrestling over the handgun, “it discharged in the process.”
The boy was listed in critical condition from the shooting, according to police
