Rogers Park teens shot while playing basketball

Two Rogers Park teens were shot Tuesday evening while they were playing basketball near Stephen F. Gale Math and Science Academy, the Chicago Sun-Times  reports.

Two teenagers were shot while they played basketball Tuesday night near a public elementary school in the Rogers Park neighborhood, police said.

The teens ­— ages 17 and 18 — were shooting hoops in the 7600 block of North Marshfield, where the Stephen F. Gale Math and Science Academy is located, police said.

A light colored sport-utility vehicle drove by about 10 p.m. and shots were fired, police said.

The 17-year-old boy was shot in the left armand the 18-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the buttocks, officials said.

Both teens were taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where they were listed in good condition, police said.
