A police raid in Rogers Park uncovered drugs and guns, and led to the arrest of a convicted felon.
Here is the story from Trib Local:
Small amounts of heroin and marijuana, as well as a 9 mm handgun and .38-caliber revolver, were found in the home of a man who had served prison time for attempted murder and drug charges, according to authorities.
Henry B. Gill Jr., of the 1400 block of West Juneway Terrace in Chicago’s East Rogers Park neighborhood, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of weapons, two felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and three misdemeanor weapons possession charges, police said.
Evanston police and officers from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police North Gang Unit executed a search warrant at the residence Monday evening, after learning of a possible connection between that home and the illegal sale of heroin in Evanston, police said.
In addition to the weapons, police recovered a small quantity of heroin and marijuana, police said. Gill also faces a felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor cannabis possession charge, police said.
Gill is expected to appear in court on May 1 in Skokie. He could not be reached for comment.
Gill was convicted in 1999 for attempted first-degree murder, police said, and sentenced to six years in prison, authorities said. In 2005 he was convicted of manufacturing/delivery of cocaine and sentenced to seven years in prison, police said.
