Lollapalooza to be broadcast on Loyola’s WLUW-FM 88.7

WLUW-FM 88.7, Loyola University Chicago’s student-run radio station, will once again be the exclusive broadcast station for Lollapalooza, the three-day music fest starting Friday in Chicago.
WLUW is one of the few FCC licensed university radio stations in the country. It will broadcast Lollapalooza live Friday-Sunday, including live interviews and performances, offering up-close and intimate musical experiences to festival-goers. WLUW also broadcast last year’s Lollapalooza.
The Lollapalozza broadcast is made possible by a partnership between WLUW and Toyota’s Free Yr Radio program.
Marking its fifth consecutive year of supporting and promoting independent, non-commercial radio across the U.S., Toyota’s Free Yr Radio program is kicking-off this year’s tour from the Free Yr Radio Broadcast Stage inside Lollapalooza with WLUW-FM 88.7.
Following Lollapalooza, Free Yr Radio will visit Outside Lands in San Francisco, Langerado in Miami, Bumbershoot in Seattle, CMJ in NYC and the Voodoo Experience, in New Orleans. At each stop on the tour, Free Yr Radio will partner with a different non-commercial station to host the Free Yr Radio Broadcast Stage where the station will broadcast live from inside the festivals, sharing and recording special live performances and artist interviews.
For most of the stations, Free Yr Radio presents an opportunity for live remote broadcasts and artist interviews from the nation’s biggest music festivals.
At Lollapalooza, Free Yr Radio, in partnership with Chicago’s WLUW-FM 88.7, will provide three full days of live broadcasts, interviews and special performances between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. from the Free Yr Radio Broadcast Stage located just north of the Buckingham Fountain.
The broadcast will be available locally at 88.7 FM and globally at www.wluw.org.
Additionally, festival attendees are encouraged to follow Free Yr Radio on Twitter to get real-time updates on upcoming performances and interview schedules at the Free Yr Radio Broadcast Stage. http://www.freeyrradio.com/
