A teenager was shot in the back in the Edgewater neighborhood late Tuesday night.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, someone shot the male in the back about 11:10 p.m. in the 6100 block of North Kenmore Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines. The location is just two blocks south of Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus.
The teen was in a parking lot with a group of people when multiple shots were fired and one struck him in the lower back, according to Rogers Park District Captain Mark Scheithauer.
The victim was taken in “good condition” to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, police said.
Investigators are speaking with “persons of interest” early Wednesday, the captain said. Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
