Chicago police warn of thefts from vehicles in Uptown, Lake View

Chicago Police have issued a community alert warning residents of thefts from vehicles in the Uptown and Lake View neighborhoods, according to WLS Radio 890 AM.
The suspects have broken into victims’ vehicles at the lakefront between West Foster Avenue and West Addison Street but primarily at Montrose Harbor, according to an alert Belmont Area detectives, WLS reports.
Any property that is found is taken from the vehicle, according to the alert. If credit cards are found, the suspects use the cards immediately before being tossed, WLS reports.
