Rogers Park man ends standoff with police

An armed man who barricaded himself in a Rogers Park condominium building and was threatening suicide was taken into custody Thursday about 11 hours after police were called to the scene, Chicago Breaking News reports.
Chicago police briefly shut down Sheridan Road in Rogers Park near the Chicago-Evanston border after the man barricaded himself inside his condominium and was threatening suicide, Chicago Breaking News reports.
The incident began at about 12:50 a.m. in the 7700 block of North Sheridan Road, according to preliminary reports. Sheridan Road at the Evanston border, just south of Calvary Cemetery, The man surrendered late Thursday morning.
