What is the fate of the shuttered Esquire Theater in Chicago’s Gold Coast?
The Chicago Tribune reports that a Chicago trader has acquired the defunct movie house on Oak Street and may develop it as part of a luxury shopping center.
Donald Wilson Jr., owner of Chicago-based DRW Holdings LLC, has bought the Esquire, which closed in 2006, and adjacent property from 58 to 104 E. Oak Street, reviving hopes that the stretch will be turned into a shopping strip, the Tribune reports.
