Gottlieb Memorial Hospital names new chairman

Karen Deighan, MD, has been named the new chairman of OB/GYN at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, Loyola University Health System announced.
Deighan was in the very first group of Loyola physicians to move her practice to Gottlieb as a part of the 2008 affiliation with Loyola University Health System. Deighan participates in the in-house attending rotation and works closely with attending physicians, residents and nurses.
Deighan has been an attending physician at Loyola for 13 years and is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Stritch School of Medicine
.
In her new role as Gottlieb’s chairman, Deighan will serve as a vice chair in Loyola’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She also will continue to see patients at Loyola Center for Health at North Riverside.
Gottlieb Memorial Hospital is a 250-bed, not-for-profit, community hospital founded in 1961. In almost 50 years, Gottlieb has grown from one small building to a sprawling, 36-acre, university-affiliated, medical center in Melrose Park, located approximately 15 minutes west of downtown Chicago. In 2008, Gottlieb became part of LUHS. Gottlieb became a part of the Loyola University Health System in July 2008.
