Illinois health officials confirmed Thursday that contaminated raw milk has been delivered to Chicago and the surrounding areas.

Those craving for a refreshing glass of raw milk this week are warned that there might be some unpleasant side effects.  According to ChicagoBreakingNews.com, there has been an outbreak of Campylobacter bacteria in connection to raw milk delivered to Chicago from a farm in Indiana.

So far eighteen cases have been reported in Michigan and other areas of the Midwest.

The bacteria causes digestive problems including diarrhea and abdominal pain.  Those experiencing these symptoms should seek medical testing and treatment immediately.  If the illness is confirmed, the person should report it to their local health department.
