Loyola student robbed at gunpoint

A Loyola University Chicago student was robbed at gunpoint and struck on the head while walking northwest of the Lake Shore Campus, Campus Safety reported Monday afternoon.
The student was walking at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6700 block of north Glenwood Avenue when she was stopped by two men, Campus Safety reports. One of the men displayed a small handgun and demanded her purse. When she resisted, the offender struck her on the side of the head with the gun, and then both offenders fled. The victim did not experience any significant injuries, Campus Safety reports.
The offenders are described as:
Offender #1
Male, approximately 24–30 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 200 pounds; last seen wearing a black skull cap, a “letterman” style jacket with navy blue leather sleeves and “Chicago” written in cursive across the front in an orange/rust color, dark colored jeans, and tan Timberland boots
Offender #2
Male, approximately 23 years old, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds; last seen wearing a grey zip-up hoodie with black block lettering on the back, black jeans, and black leather high-top gym shoes with purple lines running diagonally
The Department of Campus Safety is encouraging students to remain alert and conscious of their surroundings when walking off campus.
Safety Tips
-Stick to well-lit, populated streets as much as possible.
-Whenever possible, walk with someone else.
-Never walk through alleys.
-Do not hesitate to change your course of direction if you see a suspicious person or a group of people while walking; this can include simply crossing to the other side of the street.
-Refrain from fighting back against an offender, especially if they display a handgun, knife, or other weapon.
