A small explosion and fire took place early Friday at the Morse Red Line train station, in north Rogers Park, according to The Chicago Sun Times.
The fire was sparked when a bicycle fell on to the tracks, making contact with the electric third track, and created a small explosion.
Police still dont know how the bike ended up on the tracks.
CTA officials were notified of the fire at 3:30 a.m., and quickly cut the power to the northbound Red Line from Thorndale Station to Howard Station while the Chicago fire department spent 24 minutes extinguishing the fire.
