Two robberies have taken place this week near Loyola University Chicago’s Lake Shore Campus, the Department of Campus Safety reported Wednesday.
The first robbery occurred at 9:15 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of West Loyola Avenue, where two men stole a student’s backpack after striking him in the back of the head, campus safety reports.
The second incident occurred at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday when two females were walking to an apartment building in the 1200 block of West Arthur Avenue when a gunman demanded they hand him their purses, according to campus safety.
A Lake Shore Campus Crime Alert was sent out to students by email Wednesday notifying them of the crimes and warning students to take extra precautionary measures.
